What sport to choose for self-defence?
In the old days, an element of the city costume was a sword. Without a sword, a noble man did not go out on the street.
In the modern world, self-defence skills are becoming more and more relevant. Choosing the right sport for self-defence can greatly increase your confidence and safety.
Anyone can be attacked. The likelihood of an attack increases if you live in a private home, drive a decent car, carry a fancy handbag and just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
You need to understand how robbery and assault happen. Most often there are several attackers and they may be armed.
If the attacker is armed with a firearm, give whatever is asked, stay healthy and move on with your life. A bullet is faster than a punch or kick.
If the attacker is armed with a cold weapon, and you just today left the house without a spring from the tractor – again, give all that is asked, stay healthy and live on.
The knife is the ultimate edged weapon. All the schools of defence against cold weapons on the street don’t work.
You must realise that any unarmed attacker will use primitive striking techniques. Nobody will fight you on the street. Therefore, we exclude all types of fighting at once.
